Water under floor problems. I live in the ground floor flat in a victorian terraced house. Damp in chimney breast. Vinyl flooring can either be glued to the subfloor or it can float on top of it and either way moisture underneath it causes problems. Recently i took the carpet out from one of the rooms on the ground floor followed by a section of the floorboard and indeed it does seem that there is water under the house.
I bought a house two years ago and there has always been a bit of a bad smell in the front door area. Water leakage typically comes from one of two problems. This can generate mold that can be hazardous to humans and animals. Water damaged vinyl flooring a problem on concrete and wood substrate.
