Water Inlet Valve Ice Maker Not Working

Thermostat set too low.
Water inlet valve ice maker not working. Make sure that the water pressure to the valve is at least 20 psi. Water will not go inside the ice maker due to defective inlet valve or insufficient water pressure. Many ice makers have a control arm that activates a pause feature when the ice bin is full. The control arm may have inadvertently been moved or possibly fallen off which can pause ice maker functionality.
Faulty water inlet valve. The valve requires at least 20 psi to function. The water inlet valve is a commonly replaced part for a fridge that won t make ice. Other commonly replaced parts for a refrigerator that won t make ice are.
As a result the ice maker won t make ice. The water line from the water valve to the ice maker can freeze not letting water into the ice maker. The water inlet valve is an electrically controlled valve that opens to supply water to the dispenser and ice maker. If the water inlet valve has sufficient pressure and is getting power but the ice maker won t fill with water to make ice replace the water inlet valve.
If the water pressure is sufficient use a multimeter to check for power to the water inlet valve. Besides when a leakage is present in the inlet valve you have to replace that part. Water not reaching the ice cube tray could indicate a problem with the water inlet valve but not always. If the water inlet valve is defective or if it has insufficient pressure it won t allow water to flow through.
This video demonstrates how to test a water inlet valve on a refrigerator. The electricity that runs to this solenoid originates in the ice maker control. Ice maker was working great and i left the home for 3 weeks and turned off water supply to house but left the ice maker arm in the down position telling it to make ice for 3 weeks with no water. Consequently it prevents the ice maker from producing ice cubes in proper shape.
Ice maker stopped working control arm out of position. Ice maker assembly ice maker module door switch. Refrigerator not making ice or not dispensing water. Remove the back panel and trace the water tube from the ice machine to the valve to discover the solenoid inlet valve responsible for switching on the water flow.
A clogged water filter could also cause low or no water flow to the ice maker or the water dispenser.
